

The mission of the Douty Foundationis to foster equitable opportunities for disenfranchised children, youth and communities by supporting organizations that demonstrate a comitment to community engagement, education, and grassroots leadership. Grants focus on Philadelphia and Montgomery counties and on educational progarams, grassroote organization, risks-taking and new ideas and organizations that demonstrate innovation and roots in the community.
NEW: There are two deadlines for submitting a grant request - March 15 and September 15. Applications may be submitted on paper or online. Only one copy of the request is required. There is no longer a separate application for summer programs. Organizataions may apply for an after school or summer program as part of a larger application or as a stand-alone request.

For applications on paper, submit the following information:
* Cover sheet
* Name and purpose of the applicant organization.
* Purpose of the grant
* Program highlights
* Leadership involved in the project
* Evidence that staff involed in project is able to work with and understand the needs of the people to be served
* Amount of funds requested; amount of funds needed
* Other funds available or anticipated
* Financial report, including the most recent audit or review and the annual budget.
* Leadership of the organization, including Board of Trustees/ Directors
* Determination letter showing that the organization is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 and that it is not a private foundation under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
